Buyers are back as the market bounces back!
Following one of the quietest Autumn and Winter markets since 2008 where many buyers and sellers were put off progressing any house sale / purchase, 2020 has kicked off with buyers looking to move far earlier in the year than previously.
This pent-up frustration together with families having secured school places locally, has if anything, caused a shortage of supply. We expect that to be further exacerbated with an influx of out of area buyers drawn to our area by the relative value for money we offer; not having properties for them to view would be such a waste of this positive wave!
We have our first out of area Property Road Show the last Friday in March and are keen to have properties to show buyers at that event and then encourage them to travel up and take advantage of our Meet & Greet Service from Grantham or Peterborough train stations, as well as meeting buyers at our meeting venue on the A1. We are finding that more and more buyers aren’t keen to head in to town and like to be chauffeured around; we share our detailed knowledge of the area, they share their detailed property requirements with us.
Post this first Road Show, will be our Annual Spring Open House Event (4th April) where we aim to make it as easy as possible for buyers motivated by the Boris Bounce to view as many houses as possible in the one weekend; sadly they are only likely to purchase the one property (!) but if you are looking to sell this spring, involvement in all these events is INCLUDED IN OUR NO SALE / NO FEE agreement.
To be included in our Property Road Show, there is no need to go to the full, open market – a floor plan and at least one external photo is often all we need to tempt buyers. Buyers love the exclusivity of being told about a property before it comes to the market and out of area buyers will often pay a 5-10% premium to purchase a property to prevent it coming to the open market.
